Growing older healthily

As we age it is of greater importance that we take care of ourselves. Self care week 2012 theme is growing older healthily and here at VitaPhysical our team are ready and primed to help you along the way.

Here are some of our hints and tips to start you off:

  • Take regular health checks with your GP or practice nurse for routine blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and breast cancer to name a few. Come along to our clinic for a spinal MOT  or a maintenance treatment with our osteopaths and chiropractors.
  • Keep fit and healthy, try walking regularly, aqua aerobics, join our Tai chi or yoga classes or even have a one to one with one of our exercise specialists and have a program specifically designed for you.
  • Eat well, good nutrition will keep muscles, organs,  bones etc strong. Vitamin rich diets boost the immune system, helps you to focus the mind, keeps weight in check and last but not least makes you feel good.

Growing old can bring with it health issues such as Arthritis, muscle stiffness, immobility and sleep disorders. If left untreated ill health/pain can and will affect every aspect of our lives and speaking from personal experience I can definitely relate to the following examples:
